Evidence-based psychology and wellness

My Philosophy

Mental health is part of the human experience, intrinsically linked with our physical and spiritual health.

welcome!

I’m Laura, a UK trained, NZ Registered Psychologist.

After years of creating cutting-edge therapy programmes, I was compelled to move these modalities into our communities and open my own practice. I believe that mental health is part of the human experience, intrinsically linked with our physical and spiritual health. I operate from a desire to normalise conversations around mental health and to work with people in a way that feels authentic, holistic and values-driven.

Is therapy for you?

Are you:

  • Looking to understand yourself more?

  • Noticing unhelpful thought patterns, recurring emotional experiences and behaviours?

  • Tired of being limited by your inner critic?

  • Wanting to offer yourself self-compassion, kindness and understanding?

  • In the process of change?

  • Seeking more meaning?

  • Wanting to live with more presence?

  • Wanting to heal?

If you recognise yourself in any of these questions then the answer is yes, therapy can be for you.

You don’t need to be in distress to seek therapy with me.

My therapy style

I draw from Attachment Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Somatic and Trauma-Informed Therapy including Trauma-Sensitive Yoga.

I am also a huge believer in mindfulness-based therapies and the role of nutrition to enhance mental health and overall wellness.

I often get asked, why I do what I do? The answer is simple. My heartfelt desire is to help people on their journey of self-awareness, self-compassion, healing and growth. I support my clients to find strength in vulnerability, and to accept and honour all parts of ourselves.

My values

As a psychologist, I value connection, self-awareness, compassion, acceptance, authenticity, collaboration and integrity in all that I do and have built my practice with these values at its heart.

I regularly engage in clinical supervision and psychotherapy for myself, which is an important part of my clinical practice, personal self-care and development.

The therapeutic relationship

Therapy is all about the therapeutic connection we form. I work from a professional, relaxed, conversation-style approach that is unique to each person I work with.

Therapy is about the connection and the relationship between us
